Of mice and men compared

Watching the movie today was cool. The directors got almost everything accurate but they cut some things out and edited some things The beginning started with what Lennie did at Weed and how they were running away before they could catch them. In the book it was different they started with a journey we did not know they were running from something until later and way later was the reason why they ran. They also cut the part were they kill candy's dog we only heard the shot being fired. The last difference was that the whole killing Lennie part was so different from the book. He killed Lennie from afar nobody came and saw. There was no slim taking George for drinks. Lennie got on a train and left the ranch. He had flashbacks with Lennie and he seemed very sad about what he did.

Dear George

Dear George,
I agree it was better for you to kill Lennie. It was better if you killed him because you knew he would be in a better place. I know you were trying to save your friend because Curley or Carlson were going to shoot Lennie and they did not care about him they just wanted him dead for killing Curley's wife. I know it was an accident but she had it coming with all the flirting.
George killed Lennie the best way he could. He was gentle and the last memory Lennie had was really happy because George did not yell at him. George did not want to kill him but he had no choice the guys were coming. When george heard them coming he shot Lennie that was his cue. Slim was vey understanding he knew what really had happened. Then he took George out for a drink. I think you did the right thing.

Of Mice and men part 2

I think that Lennie does not like this place because he is very afraid to get into trouble. I also think that he is scared about what would George do to him if he got in trouble again. He is afraid to get in trouble with the bosses's son Curley. He thinks that Curley Wife is pretty. When Curley wife went into the bunkhouse she was very flirtatious with the guys and Lennie could not take his eyes away from her. After she left George said "Well, you keep away from her, 'cause she's a rattrap if I ever seen one. You let Curley take the trap. He let himself in for it. Glove full vasaline." In one part of the text Lennie says "It's mean here". I think that Lennie has a weird vive about this ranch. He does not feel very comfortable with those type of people.

Of Mice and men part 1

I think that Lennie is dependent on George because he is not very smart. I think Lennie has a mental sickness because he forgets stuff really fast and is not very smart. He depends on George because he is smarter and knows what to do. George is like Lennie's mom and Lennie is the child. He depends on George to feed him and teach him what is right and what is wrong. He needs George for protection because they are fugitives from something that happened in Weed.

George keeps Lennie around because they are probably brothers and he needs to take care of him because on his own Lennie would not make it out in the world. George would probably like to get rid of Lennie sometimes but he must really love him because he puts up with everything he does. He is getting tired of taking care of him probably because he acts like a 5 year old. He forgets things and they became fugitives because Lennie did something in Weed. I think the true reason he keeps Lennie around is because deep inside he really loves and feels sorry for him.

Interviewees Name Nathan__________

What do you predict will be the symbolism between Melinda and the tree?
He thinks that melinda and the tree are going to be simmilar because the tree starts out weak and becomes stronger. The only real connection he could find between melinda and the tree .

Are schools really this place that is isolating or is it just the student that isolates him/herself?
He thinks that it is the Public High schools are really isolating. He has talked to people that go to public school.

If Melinda's parents were more involved, do you think her relationship and feelings toward them would be different? Also, would her attitude in life be more positive?
He thinks the way people think is strongly based on how they were raised. He thinks this becaude he knows people whos aparents are not involved and has studied people whos parents are not involved. They all seem to act simmilar. He thinks that f melindas parents were more involved her feelings towardparents would change and  her attitude is based on whta she did and how peopletreat her so NO.

What do you think of the book so far? Even though it may be a bit dramatic, is it far from reality?
He tinks it is very realistic for a fiction book. There is a small posibility it is based on reality. he thinks because people act realistic.

College Bound

I was very surprised to see my grade point average because I thought that an A was 4 points no matter what and I was very wrong this school is different to any other high school and it is GREAT. I think that a 3.55 is not that bad but I want to get a 4.0 or higher so I was a little disappointed because I want to go to Harvard Medical School. I was also very excited at the same time because I am very close to my goal. I am very proud of myself for getting this far the first month of school and I still have to December to raise my Grade to a 4.0.
I learned that the schools I want to go into the GPA is higher than a 3.0 or a 4.0 which is very hard goal I have to keep through 3 years of high school I think that Diana and Chris did this for a reality check and that 3 years go by so fast. They are top schools which means a lot of students per classes. The Hispanic rate is not that high but i do not care I am going there to study have fun but not to much fun. My first choice would be Harvard Medical School then UCSD and last but not least the University of Columbia in New York City all of these schools have a great medical field. I will do my best to get into this school by working hard in Chris's and Diana's Classroom.
I think since we are early in the year I still have time to improve and work my hardest. I have to try to get a 4.0 the 4 years I go to high tech Media Arts. this is a really big deal and very important for me because I will be the first in my family to go to college and I am pretty excited about it but have a lot of pressure so I will have fun this year and work my hardest to try to get into Harvard medical school and thanks to Diana and Chris for making this activity really opened my eyes to how hard it is going to be getting into college. I will take the path of hard work and Fun. I am very excited to be in your team.

Touch

While I was waiting for Diana to come around I was getting nervous as I heard the reaction of my peers. As Diana moved closer to the table all I could hear was Eeeeeeeeewwwwwww and What is this. When she got to my table I had a big Knot in my throat as she reached for my hand with her cold hands and put my hand through a hard, cold plastic container.I felt I was going to have a heart attack when she pulled my hand to touch the substance.  I felt a cold solid and watery substance in my hand. The substance felt like slime gooey and slimy. My hand when it went all the way in it felt as my hand was completely under cold water with ice chunks. When my hand was out of the container the chunks of ice started melting into liquid. The substance was nasty and sticky it felt as if my hands were on sticky paper it got stickier as the ice chunks started melting.
When my hand was in there I had a memory when I went swimming in a pool when it was raining the substance was really strange. To tell you the truth as my hand were in there I thought it was frozen animal blood becausse it felt solid but as liquid at the same time. I took a chunk with me when Diana pulled my hand out it was a very squishy substace like foam ball. The temperature felt like negative 60 degrees.
